Bill-Babe Dr Bill Babe – MB ChB (NZ), Dip Obst (NZ)

Bill has been a doctor with our practice for over 30 years. He is an incredibly experienced doctor who is very capable in all areas of family medicine. He does a lot of work in aged care and visits several nursing homes in the hills area. Bill has recently been part of the development of the occupational therapy service within our practice. He is very happy to undertake all aspects of occupational health, including pre-employment medicals. He undertakes CAMS medicals. Bill is not currently taking new patients.

Denis has been working in the hills area for over 15 years. Denis has a passion for procedures. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer, he is a founder of the Kalamunda Skin Clinic. Denis continues to have a list at Swan Districts hospital were he undertakes minor surgical procedures, including vasectomy, removal of lumps and bumps, minor gynecological procedures and complex skin cancer removals.

Greg-Caddy Dr Greg Caddy – MB BS (WA) Dip Obst

Greg is a very well respected member of our team, having come across to Mead from his solo practice in Lesmurdie in 2006. He continues to be actively involved in obstetric care and is a founder of the Hills Obstetric Group.In between deliveries, Greg continues to practice all aspect of general practice. He is still actively involved in the palliative care roster and continues to be the all round General Practitioner of days gone by.

Rod-Thelander Dr Rod Thelander – MB BS (Qld), DCH, DRACOG.

Rod is one of our procedural doctors. He continues to undertake Anesthetics, minor surgery, Palliative care and of course General Practice. He is actively involved in silver chain and does a lot of the hospital work for the practice.In between all of this, Rod still finds time to give enormous amounts of time to the Somalil and project. Russell-Tosh Dr Russell Tosh – BSc (Hons), MB ChB (Glasgow), Dip Obst RCOG, MRCGP (UK).

Russell has interests in all aspects of family medicine. He continues to have an active role in the education of our junior doctors and is up to date with current treatments of chronic medical problems.Over the last few years, Russell has stepped back slightly in his clinical work. He is not currently seeing new patients.

Warren-Thyer Dr Warren Thyer – MB BS (WA), Dip Obst RACOG, FRACGP.

Warren is the traditional country general practitioner, who just happens to be working in the urban setting. He is very capable in all aspects of procedural general practice. He has stopped obstetric work in the last few years, but continues to be involved in anesthetics and undertakes many minor procedures. His skills were recognized in 2006 when he was awarded the honor of General Practitioner of the year.

Ewan-McLean Dr Ewen McLean MBChB (Edin), BSc (Hons), DRCOG, MRCGP, FRACGP

Ewen graduated from The University of Edinburgh Medical School in 2000 with MBChB, and an additional 1st Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology (top in his year). He continued his training in Perth at Princess Margaret Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital, then returned to Scotland where he was a principal in his own GP practice for seven years. Ewen gained membership of the Royal College of GPs with Distinction, and has extensive experience in mentoring and training General Practice Registrars. Ewen returned to Australia in 2013 with his wife and 2 young children to join Mead Medical, where he enjoys all aspects of family medicine; particularly chronic disease management including diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease as well as travel medicine, men’s health and skin checks. He enjoys all aspects of outdoor life, especially mountain biking, running, and snow boarding.

Suzie-Bicker Dr Suzanne Bicker MB ChB (Edin) MRCGP FRACGP

Dr Suzanne Bicker joined the practice in early 2013. She is excited to be returning to Australia with her husband Ewen and 2 young children, having worked alongside Ewen in Perth hospitals from 2001-3. Suzanne had been working as a GP in Scotland 2005-2013 dealing with all aspects of family GP, particularly women’s health, mental health and complex medical problems. She is also trained to insert contraceptive devices.

As a graduate of UWA, Lee Lee has trained in all areas of medicine in tertiary hospitals such as Sir Charles Gardiner, Princess Margaret and King Edward Memorial Hospital. She thrives in all aspects of medicine, however finds great pleasure in bringing patient’s skin to life. In constant pursuit of clinical excellence, learning never stops for Lee Lee. She has recently come back from the Non-Surgical Australasian Society Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Conference in Melbourne , and also attended the Perth 2016 Australasian Cosmetic Dermatology Conference. She is currently involved with broadening the research and knowledge of Near Infrared Radiation, and its effects on skin and cancer.

Julia graduated from Medicine at UWA in 2008 and, after working at Royal Perth Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital, finally found her calling in General Practice when she joined Mead Medical in 2014. 

Julia enjoys working in all aspects of family medicine and having grown up in the hills feels privileged to care for and continually learn from the local community. 

Away from work she is happiest when with her children and on her bike.

Melissa arrived from the UK in 2009 with her husband to enjoy a working adventure in York WA.

A few years later; she is the mother of 2 young children and thrilled to be living and working in the beautiful Perth Hills.

She enjoys all aspects of family medicine, with an interest in mental health and palliative medicine.

Dr James Read commenced with Mead in January 2017 having emigrated to Perth from Hove, on the south coast of the UK, with his wife and three children. James has previous experience in Australia, having worked in Sunshine Hospital in Melbourne and loves being outdoors with interests in a wide range of sports.

Dr Chieh Cheng grew up in Perth, is a local University of WA medical graduate and has worked for over a decade in various hospitals in metropolitan and rural areas in WA. Chieh has just returned from Albany where she worked for the last seven years as a rural GP obstetrician, providing continuity of care for the young and the elderly, and performing procedures such as caesarean deliveries, Implanon and Mirena insertions. She has a special interest in women’s health and paediatrics, mental health and palliative care. She also speaks Mandarin. Outside of medicine, Chieh enjoys watching films, cooking and discovering the world through travelling. Dr Cheng will practice from both of our locations.

Dr Rebecca Hunt-Davies, MBBS (UWA), DCH, FRACGP

Rebecca has worked at Mead Medical since 2009 whilst taking time out for completing training and gaining extra experience. Rebecca graduated from University of Western Australia in 2006, completing her GP training in 2012 and has a special interest in children’s and women’s health. Rebecca completed her Diploma of Child Health in 2009 and did 6 months at King Edward Memorial hospital gaining valuable knowledge in relation to antenatal care and general gynaecology. In recent months Rebecca has gained greater experience in managing Type 2 diabetes, chronic heart failure and geriatric medicine. Rebecca has an interest in all aspects of General practice and is passionate about quality patient care. Rebecca lives locally enjoying the sense of community experienced in both Forrestfield and Kalamunda. Outside of work Rebecca loves spending time with her husband and two children.

After an early career in finance, Taryn decided to follow her passion to study medicine and has not looked back. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame Fremantle in 2013 and after working across a variety of medical and surgical specialties and locations including 12 months at Albany Hospital, she commenced work in general practice and enjoys it immensely. Her clinical interests are varied and range from women’s health, sexual health, sports medicine, palliative care and paediatrics, completing the Diploma of Child Health in 2017. Outside of medicine, Taryn enjoys playing basketball, attending live music events and travelling at any opportunity.

Yinyee grew up in the UK and graduated in 2006 from Warwick Medical School in England. She has called the beautiful city of Perth home since 2011 and has a special interest in skin cancer and cosmetic medicine.

Dr Leena Uppal MD, FRACGP, MRCGP, DCH

Dr Leena Uppal is an ‘all-rounder’ GP. She is interested in and fascinated by- all aspects of family medicine and has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine. She is always looking for ways to improve her knowledge and your patient experience. She has been practicing as a Family Doctor in Perth since 2011 but moved up to the Perth Hills in January 2018 and has been with the Mead Medical Group since July 2018. Prior to moving up to the Perth Hills Leena Uppal has worked both south and north of the river in Perth.

She began practicing medicine in England in 2002 after completing her basic medical training. After completing her post graduate medical training in various different specialties including General Medicine and Surgery and Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry and Paediatrics, including gaining a Diploma in Child Health, she became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2008. In 2009 and 2010 Leena undertook training in Facial Aesthetic  Procedures in London.  In 2010 Dr Uppal and her husband relocated briefly to Cyprus where she worked a s a civilian GP working for the UK Ministry of Defense helping to look after the families and enlisted men and women of the UK Army and Air Force.  Leena and her family moved to Perth WA in 2011 and have made the hills their home recently.

When not working Leena Uppal enjoys exploring the Perth Hills and looking after their horses and goats as well as the exciting, emerging food and arts scene in Perth.

Dr Danielle Vlahov MBBS BSc DRANZCOG

We’re very pleased to announce that Dr Danielle Vlahov will join us in a full time capacity on Monday 14th January.

Since completing medical school at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle in 2014, Dr Vlahov has worked in numerous hospitals across Perth covering many aspects of medicine. She has a special interest in women’s sexual and reproductive health, paediatrics (registered Youth Friendly Doctor) and mental health. More recently she has undertaken further training, completing her DRANZCOG through King Edward Memorial Hospital with special interest in antenatal care. She has also completed a certificate in sexual and reproductive health and is qualified to insert and remove both Implanons and IUDs.

Danielle believes in a holistic approach to managing patients’ needs with a focus on ensuring all aspects of their health are attended to at each consult.
Outside of the practice she enjoys running along Perth’s pristine coast line. Danielle likes to maintain an active lifestyle which helps connect her with the community and her family.

Dr Elaine Lee MBBS FRACGP DCH
 
Dr Lee graduated from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is experienced in occupational health medicine, chronic disease management, mental health, women’s and men’s health. She also has a postgraduate qualification in paediatric medicine.

Dr Lee was awarded WA GP Registrar of the Year in 2013 for her commitment and dedication towards providing community care in rural and Aboriginal health settings.

In addition to this, she is able to converse in multiple languages including Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien) and Malay.

Dr Johannes du Preez MBChB, CCFP, FRACGP

Dr du Preez studied in South Africa and worked there for two years in a GP practice before leaving for Canada in 1997 where he met his wife and their two children were born.

While in Canada he obtained his LMCC in 1999, a further certificate of competency in family/general practice in 2003 and in 2005 a certificate of competency in emergency medicine.

Over 19 years he worked in a number of locations in northern Alberta and Vancouver Island as a primary partner in a GP practice as well as an emergency physician in tertiary referral hospitals.

Johan and his family moved to Australia in 2016 where he obtained Fellowship with the RACGP and has been practicing in an urban GP practice for the past two years.

His interest lies in acute care and preventative care of acute/chronic disease processes across all age groups. He is well versed in skin checks and small procedures/excisions as well as acute injury management and is a strong believer in evidence based medicine.

Dr Debalina Gon Chaudhury MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Debalina Chaudhury graduated from India and migrated to Perth in 2009. Since then she has worked in various hospitals and disciplines throughout WA.

Dr Chaudhury entered GP training in the Northern Territory in 2016 and completed her training in 2018, during which time she gained strong experience in Aboriginal health. She is now a Fellow of the Royal Australia College of GPs (RACGP), holds certificates in emergency medicine, family planning and sexual health, and can assist in contraception & menopause advice, and implanon insertion and removal. Dr Chaudhury has specific interest in women’s health, emergency medicine, Aboriginal health, chronic disease management and preventive health.

Dr Celia Worth BSc, BCom, MBBS, DRANZCOG

Dr Worth is a mother of two young children and completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2008. She then she went on to complete five years of speciality training in obstetrics and gynaecology at predominantly Liverpool Hospital, a busy tertiary centre in Sydney.

In 2017 she made the difficult decision to follow her husband back to his home town in Perth and refocus her priorities to work life balance and being a mother.

Since that time she has been working as a career medical officer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Joondalup Hospital.

For now, she is working towards completing the general practitioner component of becoming a GP obstetrician but hopes to complete her specialist training in the future once her children are at school.

Celia is passionate about every aspect of women’s health and providing women with equitable access to all available resources, information and health care providers.

Her current aspirations include having another child, providing care to women with a holistic approach and locuming in remote areas of Western Australia to bridge the gap in health care provision for women.

Dr Anna Dillon MBBS, DRANZCOG Adv, DCH, BHSc(Physiotherapy)

Anna initially qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2002 and worked in NZ, the UK and Australia before deciding to study medicine at Notre Dame in Fremantle. She graduated in 2012 and worked at Fremantle Hospital. While doing a GP term in Carnarvon she discovered her passion for general practice and womens health and she has subsequently undertaken 2 years of womens health training and is part of the Mead team who provide obstetric care at Bentley Hospital. Anna is passionate about all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in women’s health, sexual health, paediatrics, sports medicine and preventative health.

Outside of work Anna and her partner are kept busy with their gorgeous infant son. She also enjoys running and mountain biking and exploring WA. 

Dr Sandy Braiuka BHMS (Ed) BHlthSc (Compl Med) MA MBBS DRANZCOG DCh

Sandy has enjoyed careers in many aspects of health care for over 30 years, including as a teacher, researcher, naturopath, kinesiologist and now as a Doctor. She has a special interest in sexual health, paediatrics, mental health, palliative care and all aspects of women’s health including antenatal care and insertion and removal of mirenas and implanons. Her passion is integrative medicine and the exploration of the mind-body connection through mindfulness, meditation and preventative health care. Outside of medicine, Sandy loves singing with the Gay and Lesbian choir and traveling to explore new places, cultures and food.

Dr Danielle Vlahov MBBS BSc DRANZCOG

We’re very pleased to announce that Dr Danielle Vlahov will join us in a full time capacity on Monday 14th January.

Since completing medical school at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle in 2014, Dr Vlahov has worked in numerous hospitals across Perth covering many aspects of medicine. She has a special interest in women’s sexual and reproductive health, paediatrics (registered Youth Friendly Doctor) and mental health. More recently she has undertaken further training, completing her DRANZCOG through King Edward Memorial Hospital with special interest in antenatal care. She has also completed a certificate in sexual and reproductive health and is qualified to insert and remove both Implanons and IUDs.

Danielle believes in a holistic approach to managing patients’ needs with a focus on ensuring all aspects of their health are attended to at each consult.
Outside of the practice she enjoys running along Perth’s pristine coast line. Danielle likes to maintain an active lifestyle which helps connect her with the community and her family.

Dr Elaine Lee MBBS FRACGP DCH
 
Dr Lee graduated from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is experienced in occupational health medicine, chronic disease management, mental health, women’s and men’s health. She also has a postgraduate qualification in paediatric medicine.

Dr Lee was awarded WA GP Registrar of the Year in 2013 for her commitment and dedication towards providing community care in rural and Aboriginal health settings.

In addition to this, she is able to converse in multiple languages including Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien) and Malay.

Dr Johannes du Preez MBChB, CCFP, FRACGP

Dr du Preez studied in South Africa and worked there for two years in a GP practice before leaving for Canada in 1997 where he met his wife and their two children were born.

While in Canada he obtained his LMCC in 1999, a further certificate of competency in family/general practice in 2003 and in 2005 a certificate of competency in emergency medicine.

Over 19 years he worked in a number of locations in northern Alberta and Vancouver Island as a primary partner in a GP practice as well as an emergency physician in tertiary referral hospitals.

Johan and his family moved to Australia in 2016 where he obtained Fellowship with the RACGP and has been practicing in an urban GP practice for the past two years.

His interest lies in acute care and preventative care of acute/chronic disease processes across all age groups. He is well versed in skin checks and small procedures/excisions as well as acute injury management and is a strong believer in evidence based medicine.

Dr Debalina Gon Chaudhury MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Debalina Chaudhury graduated from India and migrated to Perth in 2009. Since then she has worked in various hospitals and disciplines throughout WA.

Dr Chaudhury entered GP training in the Northern Territory in 2016 and completed her training in 2018, during which time she gained strong experience in Aboriginal health. She is now a Fellow of the Royal Australia College of GPs (RACGP), holds certificates in emergency medicine, family planning and sexual health, and can assist in contraception & menopause advice, and implanon insertion and removal. Dr Chaudhury has specific interest in women’s health, emergency medicine, Aboriginal health, chronic disease management and preventive health.

Dr Celia Worth BSc, BCom, MBBS, DRANZCOG

Dr Worth is a mother of two young children and completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2008. She then she went on to complete five years of speciality training in obstetrics and gynaecology at predominantly Liverpool Hospital, a busy tertiary centre in Sydney.

In 2017 she made the difficult decision to follow her husband back to his home town in Perth and refocus her priorities to work life balance and being a mother.

Since that time she has been working as a career medical officer in obstetrics and gynaecology at Joondalup Hospital.

For now, she is working towards completing the general practitioner component of becoming a GP obstetrician but hopes to complete her specialist training in the future once her children are at school.

Celia is passionate about every aspect of women’s health and providing women with equitable access to all available resources, information and health care providers.

Her current aspirations include having another child, providing care to women with a holistic approach and locuming in remote areas of Western Australia to bridge the gap in health care provision for women.

Dr Anna Dillon MBBS, DRANZCOG Adv, DCH, BHSc(Physiotherapy)

Anna initially qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2002 and worked in NZ, the UK and Australia before deciding to study medicine at Notre Dame in Fremantle. She graduated in 2012 and worked at Fremantle Hospital. While doing a GP term in Carnarvon she discovered her passion for general practice and womens health and she has subsequently undertaken 2 years of womens health training and is part of the Mead team who provide obstetric care at Bentley Hospital. Anna is passionate about all aspects of general practice with a particular interest in women’s health, sexual health, paediatrics, sports medicine and preventative health.

Outside of work Anna and her partner are kept busy with their gorgeous infant son. She also enjoys running and mountain biking and exploring WA. 

Dr Sandy Braiuka BHMS (Ed) BHlthSc (Compl Med) MA MBBS DRANZCOG DCh

Sandy has enjoyed careers in many aspects of health care for over 30 years, including as a teacher, researcher, naturopath, kinesiologist and now as a Doctor. She has a special interest in sexual health, paediatrics, mental health, palliative care and all aspects of women’s health including antenatal care and insertion and removal of mirenas and implanons. Her passion is integrative medicine and the exploration of the mind-body connection through mindfulness, meditation and preventative health care. Outside of medicine, Sandy loves singing with the Gay and Lesbian choir and traveling to explore new places, cultures and food.
