Stephanie joined Mead Medical in October 2024.
She’s originally from Hartlepool, a small town in the northeast of England – but has lived in Oxford and Glasgow before moving to Western Australia in 2015.
Before joining Mead, Stephanie had founded her own medical centres in Armadale and Canning Vale and was hands on with the renovations, set up and daily running of both clinics.
With the hard work of starting up a business and growing the start up company, Stephanie was named as one of the 40under40 2024 winners which shines a light on business success and acumen.
Prior to joining the primary health care industry, Stephanie worked in various finance and management roles during her career and has worked across a variety of industries.
She has worked with charities in both UK and Australia dealing with homelessness, social housing, aged care and residential care for people with dementia and maintains that working to help the local community has always been the most rewarding.
Steph has also worked in the hospitality industry, involved with finance and daily hotel management for a large hotel chain.
And immediately before emigrating to Australia, she was privileged to work in TV production – working alongside Peter Capaldi, Robbie Coltrane and Robson Green.
In 2021, Stephanie was delighted to learn that her colleagues had nominated her as Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) WA Practice Manager of the Year.
She was very humbled and shocked to later be announced as the state winner for 2021.
Steph is a proud member of AAPM to date and ensures that she stays as current as possible in her role as well as trying to be a voice for her profession and for primary care.
In 2024, Stephanie was elected to the AAPM state committee where she is proud to advocate for practice managers across the state.
Outside of work, Stephanie has two small children that keep her very busy! She loves music and (child care permitting) you’ll find her at music concerns and theatre shows or drinking wine and watching films from the 80’s.
Steph also received a Women in Leadership scholarship with Australian Institute of Management and is working towards her MBA.
