Flu & COVID-19 Vaccinations

Mead Medical offers seasonal influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccinations to help protect our patients and the wider community from serious illness.

Vaccination is a safe and effective way to reduce the risk of infection, complications, and hospitalisation, particularly for vulnerable individuals including older adults, young children, pregnant women, and those with chronic medical conditions.

Flu vaccines are updated annually to provide protection against circulating strains, while COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are offered in line with current Australian health guidelines. Our GPs and nursing team can provide advice on eligibility, timing, and co-administration of vaccines where appropriate.

Vaccinations are administered by trained clinical staff in a safe, supportive environment. Appointments can be booked through the practice, and our reception team is happy to assist with bookings and any questions regarding flu and COVID-19 vaccination services.

Please note that new flu vaccines are produced each year and we are reliant on supply by the Department of Health – this is usually around May each year but may vary. Please keep a look out on our social medical page for when our stock is available.

Due to an overwhelming demand from the local community for flu vaccines, we try to offer flu vaccines as stand alone bulk billed appointments and kindly ask that you book a separate appointment with your regular GP to discuss other issues. This helps ensure that we’re able to provide quick flu vaccines for the maximum amount of people.
