Fees
MEAD MEDICAL IS A MIXED BILLING PRACTICE
FEES
ALL GPs are independent contractors and are required to set their own individual fee structures and billing methods. The practice is required to follow their instruction. You may experience varying fees dependent on the GP you see. Please speak directly to your regular GP if you have any concerns or queries in relation to your fees.
Fees are payable upon completion of your appointment.
Outstanding fees on your account may prevent you booking further appointments.
Medicare rebates are available to patients with a valid Medicare card. On arrival at the clinics, please ensure that your Medicare details are up to date as this may impact the ability to process your Medicare rebate. If you have a concession card please ask our reception team to add this to your file, as discounted rates may be available.
Telephone appointments are only eligible for Medicare rebates if you have been seen at the clinic in the last 12 months. If in doubt, please ask a member of our reception team who can confirm this with you.
Whilst some of our doctors are happy to process requests without an appointment (such as repeat scripts or referrals) there are private fees for these requests as Medicare will not provide rebates or bulk billing options if you are not speaking with the doctor in person or over the phone.
Medicare rebates can generally be processed on site after payment is received.
Please note that Medicare will not process rebates to credit cards or via ApplePay but we can sent the rebate request directly to Medicare who can then rebate directly to the bank account you have registered with Medicare.

SKIN CLINIC PROCEDURES
All skin procedures are privately billed and you will be advised of the approximate cost by your Doctor at your initial appointment.
Your GP will provide you with an Informed Financial Consent (IFC) form detailing the cost of your procedure and you must sign and return to reception prior to your procedure. The procedure fee will need to be paid in full on the day of your procedural appointment. If histology is required, our staff will SMS you a payment link once histology results have been received and discussed with you, this payment will be rebated in full by Medicare and will be automatically refunded to your nominated bank account once you have processed this payment. Histology is when your GP needs to remove or send a sample of a lesion or lump to pathology for clinical assessment.
