Dr Naveed Akram is an experienced doctor who graduated in 2001. He trained in UK tertiary hospitals across diverse surgical specialties (including Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic and General Surgery) before embarking on General Practice training. During this time, he gained broad experience in Elderly Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics and Gynaecology.

He obtained his MRCGP from the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK) in 2009 and became a GP Trainer in 2012. He also holds a Diploma in Diabetes Management. Dr Akram served as Clinical Director for Quality and Safety in UK primary care, leading appraisals for 73+ practices and implementing systems to enhance patient safety.

Since moving to Perth in 2018, he obtained FRACGP and has cared for generations of families across the Perth Hills. He is passionate about:

  • Chronic and complex disease management (especially diabetes)
  • Preventive health and reducing medication reliance
  • Whole-person care across all life stages

“Patients become people I know, then families I care for – that’s the heart of general practice.”

Dr Akram champions accessible care: he bulk bills children, pensioners, students, and those experiencing hardship. At Mead Medical, he has enhanced local services including cardiologist-reported ECGs and in-house cardiac monitoring.

His patient-centred approach focuses on empowering individuals through lifestyle changes and collaborative decision-making.
