Dr Niamh Shea

Joining Mead Medical on 2 November 2026

Dr Niamh Shea is an Irish-trained General Practitioner who enjoys providing comprehensive care to individuals and families at every stage of life. She graduated with honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2012 and completed further training in hospital medicine before qualifying as a GP in 2023.

Dr Shea enjoys the variety of general practice and values building long-term, trusting relationships with her patients. She has a particular interest in women’s health, including menopause management, and holds a Diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health. Her broader clinical interests include children’s health, chronic disease management, mental health and preventative care. She has also completed additional training in clinical dermatology and long-acting reversible contraception.

Alongside her clinical work in Dublin, Dr Shea has taught medical students at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She holds a Diploma in Health Professions Education and enjoys both teaching and continuing to develop her own clinical knowledge.

Having relocated to Perth with her young family, Dr Shea is looking forward to joining the Mead Medical team and getting to know the local community. Outside of medicine, she enjoys swimming, cycling, running and yoga, as well as cooking, reading and travelling with her family.
