Dr Vasudha (Vasu) Iyengar is an experienced and highly regarded Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who will be joining Mead Medical in March 2025. She holds an MBBS, Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG), and Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).

Dr Vasu’s medical career spans India, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia, bringing a truly global depth of expertise to her work. After completing her specialist training, she spent 11 years practising in New Zealand before moving to Australia, where she worked in Victoria prior to relocating to Western Australia in 2024.

Alongside her role at Mead Medical, Dr Vasu also works at Fiona Stanley Hospital, where she continues to contribute to complex women’s health services. Her specialised area of clinical practice is advanced laparoscopic gynaecological and pelvic floor surgery, a field in which she has more than 15 years of experience. Her skill in minimally invasive techniques allows her to provide comprehensive, contemporary care for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions.

At Mead Medical, Dr Vasu provides both obstetric and gynaecological consultations, offering holistic care across pregnancy, reproductive health, and women’s wellness. She also performs a variety of in-clinic minor procedures, including:

  • Mirena and IUD insertion and removal
  • Colposcopy
  • Polyp removal
  • Endometrial biopsy
